KidBiz Market Returns This Summer

The Small Business Development Center is excited to announce that KidBiz Market will be returning for three Saturdays this summer. KidBiz is a small-scale entrepreneurial and educational program for third- through sixth-graders that culminates in an open-air market along bustling Elmwood Avenue.

To be part of KidBiz and sell items at KidBiz Market, a child and a parent (or guardian) must attend the Saturday training session, "Get Ready for KidBiz," on Saturday, April 29, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Newman Lecture Hall, Bulger Communication Center 215. Attendees will learn how to serve customers, how much supplies might cost, and how much to charge. Participants will get a KidBiz start-up kit and a KidBiz certificate.

What to sell? Anything that will fit on the table—old toys, sports cards, books, artwork, crafts, gently used clothing, homemade food or drinks. (It is best to stick with one idea and improve it from month to month.)

Market days are Saturday, June 24, July 15, and August 12.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Olivia Harbol, SBDC business adviser, (716) 878-4030.
