The Higher Education Administration Department is pleased to announce a three-part series, "Social Media in Higher Education: Implementation and Impact – A Conversation with Paul Gordon Brown," on February 12 and 13.

Paul Gordon Brown is a Ph.D. candidate and educator specializing in the impact of technology, social media, and design on college student learning and development. He is an independent speaker and consultant, delivering conference keynotes and speaking to diverse audiences nationally and internationally (most recently in Dubai) on topics related to social and digital technology.

Brown has over 10 years of professional experience in higher education and student affairs in a diverse array of functional areas including residential education, honors programs, academic advising, college athletics, and student activities. Currently serving as an instructor in the higher education program at Merrimack College, and formerly at Boston College, Brown has extensive experience in the classroom and working in blended student and academic affairs environments. His research interests include first-year students; honors, high-ability, and high-achieving students; learning communities; residential curricula; and social media, technology, and design. 

Brown will lead a series of conversations over two days focused on maximizing the use of social media in higher education and understanding its impact on students. Faculty and staff members are welcome to attend. RSVP to Amy Wilson, assistant professor of higher education administration.
