Faculty Development Workshop: Team-Based Learning - April 30

The Professional Development Center will present the workshop "Team-Based Learning" on Thursday, April 30, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Butler Library 181B.

Team-based learning is a special form of in-class collaborative learning using a specific sequence of individual and group work with immediate feedback, applying material to a specific problem. This process shifts the learning paradigm. Students move from passive to active learners. Course goals shift from knowing to applying. Instructors are no longer "on stage," but guide the learning instead. Finally, team-based learning creates a motivational framework in which students increasingly hold each other accountable for coming to class prepared and contributing to the discussion. Facilitated by Scott Phillips. Snacks will be provided.

Please register online via the CyberQuad Workshop Registration System.

Please contact Lauren Turner, professional development assistant, with questions.
