Equity and Campus Diversity November News

From the Diversity Program Coordinator
Please join us for a screening of 15 to Life: Kenneth's Story (PDF), the third film in an exciting year-long screening and discussion series, "Beyond Boundaries: Dare to Be Diverse," on Thursday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

Synopsis: At age 15, Kenneth Young was tried as an adult and convicted of armed robbery under Florida law. He received four consecutive life sentences, guaranteeing that he would die in prison. 15 to Life is a story of redemption that raises the question, how should children be treated in the justice system?

Moderated by Ron Stewart, professor of sociology. Panelists include a representative from H.E.A.R.T., a city court judge, and an adviser to the Lifers' Group at Attica State Prison.
