Elmwood Avenue Streetscape Project: City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, Parks, and Streets

This is a courtesy notice to the campus community of a City of Buffalo project that will affect traffic near campus. Construction is expected to begin in early September on Elmwood Avenue between Forest Avenue and Iroquois Drive. Plans for the Elmwood Avenue Streetscape Project include milling and repaving of the roadway and the addition of decorative street lighting, updated traffic signals, signage, landscaping, pavement markings, and a bicycle path.

To accommodate this work, Elmwood and Forest avenues will have lane restrictions that will affect traffic flow at the east edge of campus. Entrances at the west edge of campus via Grant Street will not be affected by this work. This undertaking is expected to be finished in November 2013. The City of Buffalo recommends that the Buffalo State community avoid this area and find alternative routes. Questions regarding this work should be directed to the project engineer, Erdman Anthony Engineering Services, at (716) 885-0805.
