Advanced to the Curriculum Committee
The following have been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the College Senate Curriculum Committee for fall 2018 review:

New Course:
EXE 619 Advanced Assessment and Instruction in Reading for Students with High-Incidence Disabilities. Prerequisite: EXE 521 or equivalent. Builds on foundational knowledge of the reading process. Focuses on a cognitive model of reading to interpret assessment information and plan targeted instruction for students who demonstrate significant difficulties with reading. Offered every semester.

Course Revision:
EXE 682 Instructional Field Experience in Special Education. Prerequisites:  EXE 500 or equivalent; EXE 501 or equivalent; EXE 502 or equivalent; EXE 503 or equivalent; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in prerequisite coursework; program coordinator permission. A graduate field placement composed of 100 on-site hours working with individuals needing special education services, completed in public, private, or charter school classrooms, private agency classrooms, or classrooms in residential settings. Required for graduate students seeking certification as teachers of special education (individual requirements differ by program). Offered every semester.
