Chautauqua Institution Day Trip: August 9 - Register Now

Buffalo State faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to join the Alumni Association on Tuesday, August 9, when we hit the road to hear CNN’s Fareed Zakaria lecture at the Chautauqua Institution.

The cost of $35 per person includes coach bus transportation, a Chautauqua Institution gate pass, and a ticket to hear Zakaria speak. Transportation will be provided from the Buffalo State campus, with departure and return from Lot G-20 (view the campus map, PDF 3MB). Attendees must arrive by 7:15 a.m.; the bus will depart at 7:30 a.m. sharp. The full day's schedule is listed below. Register by Friday, August 5.

Zakaria is the host of “Fareed Zakaria GPS” on CNN, a Washington Post foreign affairs columnist, a contributing editor at the Atlantic, and a New York Times best-selling author. Widely respected for his ability to spot global economic and political trends, Zakaria reaches millions of readers weekly. Esquire magazine described him as "the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation."

He has interviewed heads of government including Barack Obama, Hassan Rouhani, Moammar Gadhafi, Narendra Modi, King Abdullah II, and David Cameron, as well as many other intellectuals, business leaders, politicians, and journalists. His latest book is In Defense of a Liberal Education.
