The Burchfield Penney Art Center Poets and Writers Series begins its four-part series on Sunday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m. with a reading by Sara Ries and Janna Willoughby.

Ries is a University at Buffalo graduate who also has an M.F.A. from Chatham University. Her first collection of poems, Come In, We're Open, won the Stevens Poetry Manuscript Competition and was published in 2010. Willoughby is a second-generation member of Earth's Daughters and is an active participant in the Western New York poetry scene. She is also a creative book designer.
