Buffalo State Paws in the Park Team

We are looking for teammates for the Buffalo State College SPCA Paws in the Park Team. Animal lovers who are willing to help a great cause are invited.

As the SPCA’s longest-running fundraiser, the Paws in the Park Walk, presented by Keller Technology Corporation, invites people to come with (or without) their dogs to a two-mile walk at Beaver Island State Park, Area 1, on Saturday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. The day includes lunch for participants; pet-related vendors and exhibitions; judged dog trick, costume, dog-owner look-alike, and waggiest-tail contests; an agility course for the dogs; and fun for children and adults alike with inflatable bounce houses. New this year: in celebration of Keller Technology Corporation's fifth year as Leader of the Pack presenting sponsor, the first 500 people who check in at the registration tent will receive a dog bandana or a Paws in the Park baseball cap! Participants must pay a $30 registration fee to participate, but this donation will go directly to assisting the animals of the SPCA.

One-hundred percent of the money raised through pledges goes directly to the care of homeless pets in SPCA shelters and off-site adoption sites. More than 14,000 cats and dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and other small pets (including exotic pets) and wildlife are brought to the SPCA each year. The SPCA spends an average of $11,500 a day on direct animal services and program costs and recently received the highest ranking possible from the nation's leading charity watchdog, Charity Navigator.
