Benefit Dinner and Concert with Midori

Violin virtuoso Midori will perform a benefit concert at Buffalo State at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, to inaugurate the exquisite new 190-seat recital hall in Rockwell Hall. Tickets are on sale now in the Music Department, ext. 6401, and include an intimate performance by one of the world’s most celebrated musicians, an elegant preconcert dinner, and a permanent recital hall seat plaque in the ticketholder’s name. A portion of the proceeds raised from this event will support music student scholarships and the music program. A $300 tax-deductible acknowledgement will be provided with each purchased ticket.

The multimillion-dollar performance space will feature remarkable acoustics, a state-of-the-art recording studio, a dedicated green room, and a fully restored 1956 Mason & Hamlin concert grand piano in a new teaching studio. The facility will be used for student and faculty recitals, for guest artist performances, and to teach and produce sound recording. Peer-to-peer collaboration will be possible through advanced computer networking, allowing musicians to perform simultaneously with others around the globe in real time.
