Appointment: Assistant Chief of University Police

From the Vice President for Finance and Management
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Pedlow as Buffalo State’s new assistant chief of University Police, effective January 15. Her appointment fills the vacancy left by former Deputy Chief John A. Lombardo’s August 2014 retirement.

Pedlow held the title of lieutenant and shift commander with the University Police at the University at Buffalo from 2010 to 2015. As lieutenant, Pedlow also served as community liaison and project coordinator for the problem-oriented policing program, as a violence-prevention team representative, and as an honor guard team leader. Before serving as lieutenant, she worked for 15 years as a University Police officer at UB.

Pedlow earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Buffalo State in 2009, and is currently completing work on a master’s degree in criminal justice from the college. In 2012, Pedlow completed the FBI’s National Academy, a premier 10-week training program held in Quantico, Virginia.

I am grateful to University Police Chief Peter Carey and his staff for their extra effort and contributions during this interim period. Please join me in welcoming assistant chief of University Police Amy Pedlow to Buffalo State.
