Alumnus and Former Manager for James Brown on Campus March 30

Buffalo State alumnus Howie Greene, former manager for James Brown, will visit campus to talk about artist management with Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff on Wednesday, March 30, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Ciminelli Recital Hall in Rockwell Hall. Greene's visit is sponsored by the Music Department, and his talk is free and open to the public.

Greene is a talent manager and producer living in Buffalo and an adjunct faculty member at Niagara County Community College, where he teaches visual communication. He has had a long career in show business and politics. He spent several years as part of the management team for James Brown, traveling the world with the "godfather of soul." He currently works with Brown’s daughter, Deanna Brown Thomas, partnering on several projects, including the James Brown Family Foundation and the Soul Generals, featuring former James Brown band members.

Greene was also an executive producer and host at SiriusXM. Previously, he was a radio talk show host and morning-drive DJ in Denver, Cleveland, Southern California, New York City, and Washington, D.C. He is also a frequent blogger on the Huffington Post and Examiner.com and a public speaking coach. Greene is a graduate of Buffalo State College, where he was one of the founding members of WBNY-FM 91.3.
